I didn’t hit a single word today
My mark was off by a long way
I tried to reach you in my own way
But I’m three out of three today

The Terror of The thirties, so say the Russians of old.
The Law of the first of December and no one could escape the woes.
Hundreds of thousands upon thousands dead in the snow.
The Linengrad devil tried to steal their souls.
Randomly killed for a quota and no outcry could be heard.
Stalin killed his own family just to feed his evil rage.
Rivers of blood shed we never seen to learn.
The terrors of the thirties let us turn the page.

I dreamed I was flying, the sole purveyor of the spectacular beauty below
with my Eagle eyes I could see exactly where to go
I flew over the spines of breathtaking mountains and white capped oceans vast
Flying up to the High Heavens all the galaxies in my path
while the gold dust of the stars showered me like rain

The Sun has tilted and pulled all the light away
Her world is a hue of lavender blue
The dreams shifted inside her that day
and she stayed there all afternoon…

I am breathing underwater and not wondering how
I am praying to be rescued but not sure if the time is now
Gravity feels heavier than it use to but in the water I am weightless
I can no longer hear the angry world and could not care less
You are so close I can hear but not touch you
You are The Holy One well acquainted with Truth

Confusion has a cost
Like skimming off the dross
It all goes swirling down a drain
Leaving oily globs of pain.
The Trojan horse is chaos
Now enters your thoughts
The battles swarm like bees
The Word of God cannot be defeated.
Take heart
Because you are not crazy
You are a warrior
The Battle is the Lord’s.
So, listen for the sounds of spring
Listen for the bells of victory
You will take flight on His Wings
Let your praises ring!
Take heart
Because you are not crazy
You are a warrior
The Battle is the Lord’s

It is an early morning rain
blue crystals falling from the sky
Oh all the words won’t come my way
the search for them makes me high
I saw you sleeping in the candle light
coming round to that place where we bleed
Oh all your thoughts won’t come my way
each idea planted like a row of seeds
It is an early morning rain
a symphony falling from the sky
Oh all the dance steps are ours
or at least to give a try.

I’ve never seen a mountain like this
No way around so I gotta climb over I guess
I’ve got no strategies for something so immense
But I’m still gonna take this one step
I’ve never seen a desert storm like this
The sun is burning my body like a furnace
I’ve don’t have enough water to quench this fire
But I’m still gonna take this one step
I’ve never seen a river run so deep as this
If I wade out of these shallows I can’t catch my breath
I’ve got no strength for this current
But I’m still gonna take this one step
If I don’t climb Lord you will be my wings!
If I don’t see Lord you will be the vision I need!
If I don’t swim Lord your arms will carry me!
When you have done all according to the word of God and it seems like nothing is happening, then stand. Ephesians 6:13

Dreamlike orbs of light float by. I feel removed from afar. I compartmentalize the uncertainty of these times. It lessens the sharp edge of the unknown, of false information, and loss around every corner. This must be similar to wartime trauma, although in many ways no where near it. Yet still there is communal suffering in my world and there is idle time that cannot be healthy. Texas summer heat is unleashed. The sun beats down in all of it’s glory, unrelenting. Dozens of small wisps of clouds seem motionless in the watery blue of the summer sky.
Yet, in this stillness and overwhelming simplicity I know the Presence of God washes over me. Steady and strong, I know I am meant to live in this time. Right now I am alive. The sharp edge of the unknown lessens because of the Power of the name of Jesus. Yes, I am one of those who cling to the Power of the blood shed on His cross and the indescribable power of His Resurrection! Jesus alone!
I am able to live in the present most of the time as it is the gift He gives me. I am comforted by Him. The Alpha and Omega…The One whose name is Faithful and True. Today is what I have.
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.” Revelation 1 9:11
